On a mission to cultivate unseen leaders
For many years, I sat in corporate rooms and attended conferences and looked out into a workforce where I seldom saw myself reflected in the leaders around me. As I climbed the corporate ladder over my 16 year career in clinical research and rose to various leadership roles, I was actively defying the odds. It wasn’t easy, and I had to fight tooth and nail to secure those opportunities—I had to fight just to be seen as the leader I am.
But my story is not uncommon. I still sit in rooms where I don’t see anyone who looks like me, and more importantly can bring a perspective like mine to the table. I know those leaders are out there, they’re just unseen.
I founded The Great Silver Lining because I believe there are too many unseen leaders out there who just need to be inspired. They need to be given agency and support to realize their potential. In a nutshell—if you can SEE her, you can BE her!

517 Hope
As part of my passion for cultivating the leaders of tomorrow, I founded 517 Hope in September 2022 to provide growth opportunities to our next generation of leaders by equipping them through values-based leadership programs.
Our 517 Hope Leadership Development combines values-based leadership development with social skills development and an opportunity for students to model and practice it to achieve positive change.
Official Bio
Haydee Baker (she/her) is a Strategic Leader focused on Advancing Equity through Leadership Development. She completed her undergraduate degree at Siena Heights University with a BA in Healthcare Management. She then went on to start her career in clinical research, while also continuing her education at Central Michigan University, completing her MSA with a concentration in Leadership. She is a Visionary with 20+ years of experience in various key leadership roles, including 18 years in clinical research and over 14 years of global project management.
Haydee is the Founder of 517 Hope Nonprofit, part of the Maxwell Certified Leadership Team, and a Founding member of the Maxwell Corporate Facilitator Program. She is a passionate Professional Event Speaker and a Leadership Development Coach. Haydee is ACRP Certified in Clinical Research, an Associate Director in Infectious Disease, and the Onboarding Lead of North America for the Pharma Giant of the world, Merck.
